Tres cosas que aprendimos de la victoria de los Knicks sobre los Pacers en el tercer partido

Karl Anthony Towns at New York Knicks

Karl-Anthony Towns led a Knicks’ fourth-quarter rally without the side’s leader, Jalen Brunson. The guard was on the foul trouble but came back to sink the game-winning basket in the Knicks’ 106-100 Game 3 victory. Interestingly, it was Indiana’s home court that made the home stands more challenging for the sides.

“I think this team has shown greatness all year,” Towns said. “The Detroit series. The Boston series. Tonight, we got to show that never-say-quit attitude. It’s a testament to everyone in the locker room.” While the NY team delivered a great performance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, here are three things we learned from the entertaining game.

Three Things We Learnt From Knicks vs Pacers Game 3

Only Pacers Are Not The Comeback Kings

It was another comeback win in the Pacers vs Knicks NBA Eastern Conference final. But for a change, it was the New York Knicks who came back from a 20-point deficit. A strong second half, fourth quarter in particular, was game-changing for the Knicks. Pacers couldn’t hold up KAT.

This is the third twenty-point comeback victory achieved by the Knicks during their playoff run this season, the first team to do so in a single postseason. One key aspect, each win came on the road.

Indy 500 Record is Disappointing:

It was the busiest weekend for Indiana. The Fever side was in action on Friday night. Then it was the Indy 500 race. A rare double header with Racers and Pacers in action on Sunday. Sadly, the history was not great with such instances, and with the loss in Game 3 against the Knicks, the record now stands at 0-4 all-time.

Size Matters:

The New York Knicks replaced Josh Hart with forward Mitchell Robinson in the starting lineup. The decision might have surprised many, but Tom Thibodeau had a plan to slow down the opposition. Robinson’s presence added more size to New York’s defense and helped to slow down the Pacers’ track-like offense. He finished with six points, six rebounds, a block and a steal in 29 minutes.

Interestingly, the decision was made in the final 30 minutes of tip-off. We might see a similar lineup for the next game, too.
