Phoenix Suns Dressing Room Fight: Kevin Durant Confirms Situation As DeMarcus Cousins Makes Bold Claims
With the rumors around Kevin Durant’s trade getting intensified after a flat season, the world was shocked by the news of ‘fistfights’ in the Phoenix Suns’ locker room. It spread like a wildfire, and many believed it to be true – considering the miserable season. Kevin Durant recently spoke up about the situation and revealed what went down behind the scenes. Moreover, that his former teammate DeMarcus Cousins also made a few comments on the situation.
“I have to contest this 94-footer,” wrote Durant on X. “This some bullshit to throw on us. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we were trash this year, ha, ha, ha, but we NEVER got close to this. NEVER.”
Getting this close is a ‘make-or-break’ situation, which generally ends up breaking the franchise. Incidentally, the said event happened after the firing of Mike Budenholzer, who was blamed for not taking any action on a broken and toxic locker room culture. Well, even though Durant tried to deny the claims, Cousins stood by his reporting and even revealed the source as one of Durant’s own teammates.
“The source was one of your teammates, killa,” wrote Cousins. “And I wasn’t referring to you! Save this sh*t for the others homie…” Cousins and Durant were teammates at the Golden State Warriors franchise and shared good relation. Durant was quick to reply to Boogie’s claims and posted, “Whoa whoa Boog, I don’t want no problems with you or anybody on earth. I Promise, all I’m saying is your source is lying.”
Fist fights or not, the situation has been deemed as unsalvageable for Phoenix. The offensive trio of Kevin Durant, Booker and Bradley Neal never worked for them as they missed out on the 2025 postseason. The Suns are looking to offload KD at the moment with a suitable package deal to rebuild the roster.

Kevin Durant Trade Still Remains ‘Unsolvable Mystery’
It’s like Love Island in the NBA. Kevin Durant wanted to play for the New York Knicks (as per reports) but the Knicks refused to bid for the superstar, the Minnesota Timberwolves are said to be interested in KD but Slim Reaper sees no future with the franchise and the Houston Rockets is another franchise who KD hoped for is also not interested into 36-year-old forward.
The Suns were hoping for the bigger package, similar to what they paid for KD’s trade from the Brooklyn franchise. But after failing to get their desired value, they are ready for the lower valuation are even ready to lower he asking price to get the deal through before the 2025 NBA draft. We will have to wait and watch the scenario where KD will fit in perfectly and will not be answering the ‘fight-club’ type questions.
