Changes made in the 2026 Season

F1 will undergo a new set of technical regulations next year. These changes include significant modifications to the power unit as well as the chassis. Also, with the addition of Cadillac on the track, the grid will have 22 cars.

Canada GP has shifted forward compared to 2025 and follows the race in Miami. Another major difference to the F1 calendar includes the exit of Imola. Max Verstappen won the recent and final race at the track, with the track now being replaced by Madrid at the end of the European leg of the season.

There will be two triple headers during the year, running through rounds 19 to 21 and 22 to 24. Zandvoort has already confirmed it will host a sprint event for its final F1 weekend, while the locations of five other sprint races will be confirmed later.

These changes have been carried out in a further effort to regionalize the calendar and help reduce the travel strains on the paddock. While the McLaren pair is going stronger in the 2025 season, looking to dethrone Verstappen from the champion’s position, fans now already have the schedule for the 2026 season in hand to mark their dates.
