Trae Young desaira a Draymond Green para el puesto de Jugador Delegado: "No es Dyson"
Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young just shook up the NBA awards conversation — and it’s not good news for Draymond Green.
Despite Green recently being the overwhelming favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY), Young is pushing back on that narrative. In a conversation with Chris Haynes, the Hawks’ veteran threw full support behind his teammates Zaccharie Risacher and Dyson Daniels, saying they should be front-runners for DPOY, ROY, and even MIP honors.
“I love Draymond Green to death,” Young said. “But he’s not Dyson as far as what he’s doing on defense.”
Just weeks ago, Draymond Green sat atop the DPOY odds at -450, seemingly locked in to take home the award. But Golden State’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday has shifted the odds in favor of Cleveland Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley.
Dyson Daniels and Zaccharie Risacher Building Strong Cases for NBA Honors
Dyson Daniels made headlines Thursday night when he recorded his 226th steal of the season, passing Allen Iverson’s 225 for the most in a single campaign since Gary Payton had 231 in 1995-96. Daniels currently leads the league with 3.0 steals per game, while also averaging career highs in 14.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
Meanwhile, Zaccharie Risacher continues to elevate not only his game but his case for Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player.
Risacher, currently sitting second in ROY odds behind Spurs’ Stephon Castle, has +950 odds to take home the honor, per DraftKings — an implied probability of 9.5%. But the 20-year-old rookie is making his case louder with every passing game.

He’s the first rookie this season to win back-to-back Rookie of the Month awards and the only one to average at least 16 points on 50% shooting in a single month.
Over his last 33 games, Risacher has averaged 15.2 points while shooting an impressive 51.9% from the field and 42.4% from beyond the arc.
He also ranks among the top five rookies in total points, made field goals, three-pointers, free throws, and steals.
