Worrying Sign for Tyrese Haliburton for Game 6 And Indiana Pacers Makes Surprise Trade Amid NBA Finals 2025

Indiana Pacers' Guard Tyrese Haliburton

Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers are one game away from concluding their ‘dream season’. Though the team has performed well and looks solid for the future, it’s never too late to prepare for the next season. And the Pacers front office just got their plans straightened up with a trade midway into the 2025 NBA Finals and ahead of the NBA Draft.

On Tuesday, the Pacers announced the team has reacquired its first-round 2026 NBA Draft pick from the New Orleans Pelicans. For that, the side let go of their No. 23 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and the rights to guard Mojave King. The Pacers acquired Pascal Siakam in a trade package that included the 2026 NBA draft pick during the mega deal completed in January 2024. Raptors then used it to acquire Brandon Ingram from the Pelicans, and with recent movement, the Pacers have their 2026 first-round pick back.

While this doesn’t impact the NBA Finals preparations or active players’ movements, a sudden trade news out of Indiana certainly surprised many. After the trade was confirmed, the Pacers will not have a first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and this will be the second year in a row for the Indiana franchise to miss out on the top prospects. In the 2025 NBA draft, the Pacers will now have only one pick – the No. 54 pick in the second round.

Yet there is more concerning news on the active players’ front.

Tyrese Haliburton Questionable for OKC vs Pacers NBA Finals Game 6?

In game 5, Haliburton left the floor feeling uneasy and returned to help his side gain some momentum. But after a recent evaluation, Tyrese Haliburton is a game-time decision for Thursday’s critical NBA Finals Game 6. The severity of the calf injury sustained in Game 5 will be re-evaluated as per Coach Rick Carlisle.

Haliburton had been a key player for the Pacers in the postseason. He averaged 17.9 points and 9.1 assists in the playoffs before the injury. His game winners pushed the Pacers to the finals, and now, with the side trailing 3-2 in the series, Haliburton’s absence will be a massive blow to the Pacers.
