El entrenador del Manchester United, Rubén Amorim, pide "redención" en su discurso tras el último partido en casa de la Premier League 2024-25.
As the 2024-25 Premier League season came to an end for Man United, manager Ruben Amorim has issued a defiant message of hope and redemption, promising the Old Trafford faithful that ‘good days are coming’.
Manchester United wrapped up one of the worst Premier League campaigns in the club’s history with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday and while the manager has appealed for fans forgiveness he has also issued a rallying call to forget about the travails of this season with the hope that next season will be better.
“Six months ago, in my first three games in charge, with two victories and one draw, I said: ‘The storm is coming.’ Today, after this disaster season, I want to tell you: ‘The good days are coming.’
It has been a disaster of a season, according to the manager, because aside from losing the European League final and finishing 16th on the table, Amorim, in his 27 matches in charge of Man United in the Premier League, picked up 27 points, winning only 7 games and losing 14 matches.
Ruben Amorim and Man United Plan Ahead
Forgetting about the 2024-25 campaign also implies letting go of players like 33-year-old Cristian Eriksen, who scored from the penalty spot in the win of Aston Villa, and shortly after it was confirmed he, alongside 30-year-old Victor Lindelof and 37-year-old Jonny Evans, would leave the club at the end of the season.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana was not included in the match-day squad against Aston Villa, with a summer exit now a possibility. More players like Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are expected to leave. The absence of European football courtesy of its 15th place finish, along with financial fair play restrictions to worry about, it is believed that a reduction in the size of the squad is inevitable.
It is believed Manchester United will act fast in the summer transfer window and have targeted players who are not specifically tailored for only the 3-4-2-1 system but can also adapt to other systems.
The good news is that the club is moving fast in summer acquisitions, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the impending arrival of Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha.

The club is also certain to sign an additional attacker with Liam Delap available for 30 million pounds, while Victor Gyokeres may no longer be an option after the arrival of Cunha from Wolves.
After the match, Man Utd announced a 32-man travelling squad for their post-season trip to Asia. Amorim’s side will play two friendlies, against ASEAN All Stars in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday, 28 May and then the Hong Kong national team at Hong Kong Stadium on Friday, 30 May.
