Should FIFA Conduct 2029 Club World Cup in USA Again?
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which commenced on the 14th of June, has received its fair share of praise and criticism as fans continue to assess the organization and quality of football on show. While many commend FIFA for introducing several innovative measures to boost the acceptability of the competition others fault Football’s Governing body decision to cede the hosting rights to America just as players and coaches complain of increased number of matches and severely high weather temperature, prompting calls from some quarters for a change of hosting country in the future to better suit majority of the participating representative.
The question arises, how much will it change in four years? The players, fans and even broadcasters (only one at the moment) are not happy with the turnout. FIFA is betting on the USA for the Club World Cup hosting rights, after the 2025 edition and subpar Copa America 2024 (management-wise). Check out the reason for questioning the FIFA decision.

Criticism Over FIFA Club World Cup 2025…
The Borussia Dortmund coach, Nico Kovac, complained about the weather conditions and opted to heavily rotate ahead of the Mamelodi Sundowns game, while substitutes were pictured watching the game from the dressing room as the weather was deemed too hot to watch from the bench.
The considerably low turnout of spectators at the Cuba World Cup has been a source of concern to organisers as FIFA sold tickets to students at the Miami Dade College for as low as $20. When purchasing these tickets, Students got an extra 4 tickets. Due to the apparent low demand for Tickets, FIFA designed a Dynamic Ticketing Policy that would accommodate the sale of tickets depending on demand.
Despite some of the current criticism surrounding organisation of the Club World Cup, the Athletic reports FIFA seriously considers the USA to host the next edition of the Club World Cup in 2029 with a possible expansion of participating teams to 48, the decision to award the U.S. with the 2029 Club World Cup would have to go through the FIFA Council and that is yet to happen.

Why was USA Chosen as Host for 2029 Edition?
FIFA’s alterations to the Club World Cup means the tournament is hosted once every 4 years and by 32 teams, the Club World Cup will also serves as testing ground for the host of the next world cup which is why the United States are the 2025 host as it will host the 2026 World Cup next year. The 2030 FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.
Additionally, the first three matches of the tournament will be played in South America, specifically in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup. Theoretically, this means the host country must emanate from any one of these nations.
Potential Alternative?
Brazil also put itself forward as a potential host for the 2029 Club World Cup as the president of the CBF, Samir Xaud, says he held a meeting with FIFA president Gianni Infantino where he put forward his proposal for Brazil to host the quadrennial event, and Infantino confirmed as a possibility.
