F1 2025: Lando Norris Claims Victory at Austrian GP With Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Crashing Out Early
The F1 2025 season standings are taking shape now with the McLaren duo – Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri claiming the top two spots after 11 races. Lando Norris claimed victory at the Austrian GP while Oscar Piastri finished second at the Red Bull circuit. Charles Leclerc completed the podium finish while Hamilton finished fourth – a position below his starting position. Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz couldn’t finish the race.
In the close race, the McLaren pair fought an enthralling battle throughout the 70-lap contest. The constructors’ champions did intervene between their two drivers mid-way through the proceedings, after Piastri attempted an audacious and ill-advised move into Turn 4. Following that, their fight never quite got going again.
Norris’ victory cut down Piastri’s lead at the top to 15 points, while Leclerc is also closing on Max Verstappen (third) and George Russell (fourth).
