2025 NBA Draft Order Confirmed After Play-In Results: Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors Lost Top Picks

It was close. The Atlanta Hawks stretched the Miami Heat to the OT. Eric Spoelstra and co had to go deep to fade off the Hawks’ comeback. Tyler Herro and Bam delivered as the side progressed to the postseason now. With this, the Miami Heat became the first No. 10 team to advance to the playoffs. They will take on the Cleveland side now. But with the win in the play-in game Miami Heat now enter the 2025 NBA draft, losing their first-round pick to OKC.

But Miami will still have a first-round pick from the Golden State Warriors. Steve Kerr’s team, which decided their fate a few days back, defeated the Grizzlies. With this, they hand their pick to Maimi. Both of these drafts’ switches were part of the deals their respective teams made. Miami received the selection from Butler’s trade, while OKC received the pick from the Terry Rozier trade.

As always top three teams in the list have the highest chances of landing the actual 1st round pick. So, the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Hornets will be looking for the same. Similarly, if the lottery draw keeps the 76ers in the top six, then they will have their fifth pick intact; else, the Thunder will get that first-rounder. A similar case is for the Sacramento Kings, who will keep their first-round pick if they are selected in the top 12, else the Hawks would snatch the same.

When is the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery?

The draft lottery to determine the exact order and probably the future of the draft class will be held on May 12. The 2025 draft lottery will be held in Chicago.
