Damian Lillard Injury Update: Milwaukee Bucks Get Massive Update on Star Guard’s Availability
Damian Lillard joined the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023 to win the championship – the only thing missing from his illustrious career. Completing his second season with the Eastern Conference giants, Lillard struggled through injuries, most recently DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis), which was identified after Lillard was checked for a sore right calf muscle that ruled him out since March 18.
At the time 34-year-old star was registered as ‘out indefinitely’. Doctors started with blood thinners, allowing him to recover quickly. He was given the ‘go-ahead’ to resume the full practice earlier in the week. And as per the latest update, the nine-time All-Star is healthy now with the clot in his calf being reduced.
This raises the chances of Lillard playing in the postseason, even in round 1. As per ESPN reports, Lillard is now expected to return to action in Games 2 or 3 of the series. If Lillard takes the court, it will be a major boost to the Bucks’ quest for a second title with Giannis Antetokounmpo, who will be more than convinced to stay with the franchise amid trade rumours.
For Lillard? The star is still considering the situation deliberately. He said,
“Just gotta not take each day for granted because you never know when an issue could come up.”. But he will surely aim for his first title, and also will set a record of being the first player in 10 years to come back from DVT diagnosis in the same season.”
