GTA 6 Delayed Again, And Fans Aren’t Holding Back: “You Have Had 10 Years”
Back in December 2023, Rockstar Games dropped the first trailer of GTA 6. Fans and the entire e-sports community were on their knees after seeing the first glimpse of the popular Grand Theft Auto franchise’s game.
The trailer broke many records on YouTube, becoming the most-watched non-music video with 46 million views in merely 12 hours. Soon after, the New York-based game publisher announced that fans can expect the game in 2025. However, their recent statement has certainly made fans lose their minds.
“We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team,” Rockstar Games wrote in a recent statement regarding the GTA VI update.
As per the recent announcement, the Rockstar Games’ upcoming GTA VI now has a release date of May 26, 2026.
Internet Melts Down As Rockstar Games Delay GTA VI Yet Again
Over the last decade, the e-sports community has strengthened so much that now it has quite an emotional following like traditional sports. And the Grand Theft Auto series has a nostalgic connection with the fans.
After Rockstar Games dropped the announcement of their upcoming GTA VI game’s delay, fans on X just went wild. Their reaction was worth reading. It showed how disappointed they were after reading the most unexpected news.
The last Grand Theft Auto game, GTA V, came back in 2013, and that’s more than a decade. A fan noted that the New York-based game publishers had 10 years to finish the successor game by writing, “You Have Had 10 Years.”
Another fan wrote, “We’ve got GTA VI postponement before GTA VI,” reinstating his sarcasm over the unexpected delay.
Disappointment brings out the frustration. And a fan’s comment proved this in the best possible way. He wrote, “Here’s my thing..why would you as a company, have a whole ass trailer with a release year when you aren’t ready? If you’re gonna have a year in the trailer, at least make sure you can delivers.”
A fan wrote, “Imagine it gets delayed again next year! That would be funny.”
Probably the most hilarious comment was, “I just smashed my TV in front of 30 guests at my party because of the game. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the week at a hotel. This delay has ruined my life and my expectations. I can’t handle this anymore. Goodbye Rockstar. I am no longer a fan.”
While most of the fans felt disappointment, there was a fan who was optimistic enough to get a final release date. He wrote, “Well at least we got a proper launch date.”
These comments certainly show how disappointed all the fans are. However, now that the announcement has been made, all they can do is wait. Let’s just hope there is no more delay in the release of GTA VI!
