Barcelona vs Real Madrid El Clasico: Lamine Yamal Outshines Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe Eclipses Cristiano Ronaldo During Blaugrana’s Recent 4-3 Win Over Los Blancos
It’s 4-0 for Barcelona. Not the recent El Clasico score, but season results against their arch rivals Real Madrid. Flick’s Barcelona have been dominant in the 2024-25 season. They crushed Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga’s first round, then it was the Spanish Super Cup final where the side won 5-2 and then captured another title with a 3-2 win in the Copa del Rey final. And now in the return La Liga fixture at Barca’s home, the league leaders won 4-3.
This marks a clean sweep for Barcelona over Los Blancos, a rare and remarkable feat in this historic rivalry, winning all four matches. Barcelona icon Lionel Messi’s side never won four El Clásicos in one season. The side managed a clean sweep in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 La Liga seasons, but managed two wins in those seasons as they never faced each other in cup fixtures.
The last time Barca achieved the feat was nearly four decades ago, in the 1982-83 season, the first year Diego Armando Maradona wore the Blaugrana shirt. Back then, Barcelona and Real Madrid clashed five times, and Udo Lattek’s Barca won four of the matches and drew once.
Silver Lining for Kylian Mbappe Despite Heavy Loss, Real Madrid vs Barcelona fixture
Goals from Eric Garcia, Lamine Yamal and a brace from Raphinha handed Barcelona a strong 4- 3 win over Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappe was the sole goal scorer for the Los Blancos, but with his hat-trick, he registered some interesting records.

With two goals in the first half, Mbappe takes his season goal tally to 39, marking the highest number of goals scored in his debut season for Real Madrid. The last record holder was Ivan Zamorano with 38 goals in the 1992/93 season. Club’s top scorer, Ronaldo, had scored 33 goals in his first season for Los Blancos.
Mbappe later completed his hat-trick with the 70th-minute strike and became the first Real Madrid player to score a hat-trick in El Clásico on debut. Barcelona’s Romario had scored a hat-trick in El Clásico in the 1993-94 season, which was his debut season.
