Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gapko, and Alexis Mac Allister found the back of the net. Four different scorers and a rampant 5-1 win for Liverpool. The struggling Spurs side was no match for the Reds as the Arne Slots team sealed the 2024-25 Premier League title with four games to spare. They needed one point; they collected all three.

Now recall the moments when Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher and Manchester United’s Gary Neville were in a talk show, commentary box or even on a podcast. Both proud players defended their teams like they used to during their playing days. Hard, not backing down, and always looking to counter opposition. The arguments many times revolved around the Liverpool vs Manchester United supremacy debate, as two of the decorated clubs in the EPL have found most success. But after Liverpool’s win in the 2024-25 season? Gary Nevile might have accepted the defeat.

Talking on Sky Sports, Neville acknowledged that Liverpool’s title win, which puts them level with Man United for most EPL championships, is massive. Neivelle said, “Talking about the importance and the bread and butter being the league title, the accolade of being the more successful club, you could (have) debated may be when Manchester United won 20 titles, obviously Liverpool do have more European cups, but when once when Liverpool gets level with Manchester United, the painful thing to say, unfortunately, is that the debate is over.”

Winning the 2024-25 EPL, Liverpool now has 20 league titles, the most in the English Premier League and level with Manchester United. While Manchester United won 13 titles in the Alex Ferguson era while Liverpool didn’t win any titles in those 27 seasons. Check out the trophy cabinets of both clubs.
