In the Premier League 2024-25 season, Manchester United scored 39 goals in 34 matches. Only four other sides have scored fewer goals than the Red Devils – three of them in the relegation zone. This highlights Man United’s striking struggles, which every die-hard fan is quite aware of. So, a prolific striker is the team’s top priority, and a 50-goal striker is ready to join the side, but has one condition.

The talk of the football world this season, Sporting striker Viktor Gyökeres, is ready to move to Manchester United this summer. He has worked with Rube Amorim already and has a good relationship with him. With this, Manchester United has an upper hand over its league rivals. But the Swedish striker has one condition, and that is Champions League Football.

With the current position in the Premier League (14th) and the number of games remaining, Champions League qualification through standing seems impossible for the 20-time EPL Champions. But they have a chance via the Europa League. But should the Red Devils win the Europa League, they will replace the team in fifth place in the 2025/26 Champions League.

Victor Gyökeres has netted 52 goals in 48 appearances so far in the 2024/25 season and is just 26 years old. With his striking capabilities, Manchester United will once again try to compete for the league title in next season. So, winning the Europa League will bring double joy for Ruben Amorim and his side.

Can Manchester United Win the Europa League This Season?

The UEFA Europa League is one of the premium competitions on the continent. Nearing the end of April, there are only four sides left in the tournament. Manchester United will take on Athletic Club while their league rivals Tottenham will face Bodo/Glimt in the semifinal.

Out of these four sides, only Manchester United is undefeated in the competition. At the end of group stage games, the United side finished third, between Athletic Club (second) and Tottenham (fourth). With Amorim putting all his eggs in the Europa League competition by resting key players in the rest of the competitions, United will have their stars fresh for the fixtures.

Man United travel to face Athletic Club in the first leg of their semi-final on May 1, and should they win, that two-legged affair will go back to Bilbao for a final against either Tottenham or Bodø/Glimt.
