Robert Lewandowski Injury Blow Hits Barcelona Ahead of Real Madrid and Inter Milan Clashes
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski could be sidelined for the next three weeks, according to reports.
This comes just after Barcelona pulled off a remontada-like comeback at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium, defeating Celta Vigo 4-3. The dramatic win extended their lead to seven points over close rivals Real Madrid, ahead of a demanding fixture list that includes Inter Milan in the Champions League and El Clásico against Real Madrid.
Barca’s Comeback Overshadowed by Injury Concern
Barcelona left it late with a flurry of chances, relying on a brilliant performance from Raphinha (2 goals and an assist), Dani Olmo (a goal and a penalty won), and Lamine Yamal (1 assist) to keep their unbeaten domestic league record intact.
However, the celebrations were tempered by Lewandowski’s injury scare. The Polish striker, who has been pivotal this season with 40 goals overall and 25 in La Liga, was seen holding his hamstring and sitting down in the 78th minute as Barcelona pushed for the equalizer and winner.
Lewandowski’s Absence a Blow to Flick’s Plans
The injury is a major concern for head coach Hansi Flick, who has carefully managed the 36-year-old’s workload this season. Lewandowski was rested in December to avoid overuse injuries.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Lewandowski’s agent is not optimistic about a quick recovery and believes the striker could miss three weeks, putting his availability in serious doubt for the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and both legs of the Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan.

While losing Lewandowski is a setback, Barcelona may take comfort in the form of Ferran Torres, who has netted 17 goals this season, many of which have come off the bench. He has proven to be a reliable replacement and will likely be Flick’s first choice to fill the void.
Dani Olmo is another option. With 9 goals and 6 assists this season, his impactful cameo in the win over Celta was a reminder of his quality. However, his fitness remains a question mark, having only recently returned from a three-week injury layoff before the Dortmund game.
