Alexander Isak

The forward joined Newcastle in the 2022-23 season from Real Sociedad and has seen his stock rise gradually to being among the finest strikers in the world at present, and the Poster Boy for the Newcastle Project.

After scoring 21 goals the previous season, Isak’s 23 goals in the Premier League in the 2024-25 season are his best to date, helping Newcastle qualify for the UEFA Champions League. His 27 goals in total also ensured Newcastle won the EFL Cup, its first major trophy in over 30 years. Little wonder he is now valued at £150m by Newcastle, who are relaxed on a player whose contract still has 3 more years on it.

Ryan Gravenberch

The midfielder joined in the final year of Jurgen Klopp and struggled to find his place in the team. A similar struggle was expected under new manager Arne Slot, especially with players like Alexis MacAllister, Dominic Szobozlai ahead of him.

Imagine the shock amongst fans when the new season started and the Dutchman found his place in Arne Slot’s midfield as a deep-lying midfielder/destroyer, averaging over 1.83 interceptions per 90 minutes, about 2 tackles per match and 1.10 blocks per game.

His presence in the Liverpool midfield is the reason they have no regrets over missing out on Chelsea’s Caicedo and Martin Zubimendi.

Bryan Mbuemo

The Brentford number 19 will not be at the Gtech Community Stadium for long as Manchester United appear close to completing a £60m transfer of the Cameroonian, who scored 20 goals and provided a further 8 assists.

Operating predominantly on the right, only Mohammed Salah, Isak and Haaland scored more than him last season. A lot is expected of the Cameroonian next season, whether it’s at Manchester United or with his former boss, now at Tottenham Hotspur, Thomas Frank.

Matz Sels

The Belgian Shot stopper has been a revelation this season, producing stupendous performances that have catapulted Nottingham Forest into the Conference League spot. A key part of the Forest defence alongside Murillo and Milenkovic, Sels played every single minute in the Premier League, keeping 13 clean sheets with a 73% save percentage.

From being drafted in as a stop-gap measure to help prevent relegation, his meteoric rise in the Premier League will be remembered by Forest fans for years to come as they dream of continental success.

Declan Rice

Arguably the best Midfielder this season, Declan Rice was ever present in a team that once again finished 2nd on the log while challenging for the UEFA Champions League. Declan Rice was a constant menace to opposition, breaking up play and creating goals.

His 9 goals and 10 assists are the best return for the Englishman in his professional career, and he will want to carry on into next season with an even better return.
