Caitlin Clark Hypes Indiana Rookie For Mega Defensive Play During Fever vs Sparks 2025 WNBA Regular Season Game

Caitlin Clark of Indiana Fever

The Fever vs Sparks regular season game was one of the closest contests in the season so far. Teams had great offensive runs and defensive plays to get the win at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena. Caitlin Clark was still out, missing her fifth game in a row, due to injury. But the star was on the bench, cheering her side and was pleased with her rookie’s performance.

During the early stages of the match, with just over 30 seconds left in the first quarter, the Sparks side was leading by a point and had possession to stretch that lead. Rickea Jackson took a pass from Dearica Hamby, came off a screen, and was clear to score an easy 2. But Makayla Timpson came sprinting in from the other end and swatted the shot toward the sideline. Her ‘clear block’ was a sign of the best defensive play from the forward.

The play was applauded by the spectators, commentators, and fans on social media, Caitlin Clark was not over it. She took an image of the block and posted on her Instagram story, congratulating the rookie on her play.

While the rookie has yet to cross the 15-minute mark in a regular-season game for Stephanie White’s side, her game time is gradually increasing, showing her progress on the team.

Caitlin Clark Reveals Makayla Timpson’s Nickname

CC’s comments and praise would mean a lot to the 2025 second-round pick. With Timpson finding her feet on the side, she is already popular and loved in the team. As Clark shared the story, she also revealed the rookie’s nickname – Kk. Those who have followed Timpson would know the roots of this nickname, as she has been called this since her college days with the Florida State Seminoles.

With her tireless efforts in the training periods, Timpson is looking to make an impact in the games of the title-contending Fever team. She is one of the few players on the Fever roster with more than a two-year contract and will be a effective forward addition alongside Aliyah Boston.
