Caitlin Clark Injury: How long is Indiana Fever Superstar Expected To Be Sidelined?
The Indiana Fever franchise released a statement confirming an injury to Caitlin Clark. As per the statement released, “Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has suffered a left quadriceps strain and will be out a minimum of two weeks, the team announced today. Further updates will be provided, as available, following re-evaluation.” The statement was released on May 26.
This will keep Caitlin Clark out of action for four regular-season games, including home games against the Connecticut Sun (May 30) and Washington Mystics (June 3). Other games CC would miss would be the Washington Mystics (May 280 and the Chicago Sky (June 7). She is expected to return for the game against the Atlanta Dream (June 10).
This is not the first time CC has faced issues with left quadriceps strain. The 2024 Rookie of the Year winner had the same injury that limited her participation in the preseason games. The WNBA team confirmed that she suffered a left quadriceps strain over the weekend against the New York Liberty.
The Indiana Fever Will be Hoping for Early Return for Caitlin Clark
Even though the Indiana Fever is stacked with star players and potential game winners, their offence primarily runs through Caitlin Clark. The player averages 19 points, six rebounds and 9.3 assists per game in four games played so far for the Fever (2-2), who sit third in the Eastern Conference.
Sophie Cunningham’s return from injury is a welcome sign for HC Stephanie White, but playing Kelsey Mitchell at the point has backfired so far for the Fever side. Fans could also see increased game time for Colson and Cunningham, giving the side an opportunity to test new formations early in the season.
